and then was ripped to shreds by Obama and his media minions about being out of touch with economic realities.

“I just think he doesn’t know,” Obama said in Grand Junction, Colo. “He doesn’t get what’s happening between the mountain in Sedona where he lives and the corridors of Washington where he works…. Why else would he say, today, of all days — just a few hours ago — that the fundamentals of the economy are still strong? Senator — what economy are you talking about?”

That was on September 15, 2008 when the Dow closed at 10,917. We were summarily told that McCain was a crazy old bat for saying that the fundamentals of the economy were strong; fundamentals, which he described as the ingenuity and work ethic of Americans. Fast forward to March 13, 2009 when the Dow closed at 7223 and we have our charlatan-in-chief popping up from behind the teleprompter give us this whimsical pearl:

Here is a video I came across that shows the military reaction to George Bush giving a speech at Anbar Province in 2007 and Barack Obama speaking at Camp Lejeune in 2009.

In a shocking turn of events, I didn’t notice any teleprompters in front of the current President’s face as he gave his speech to which he got a “tepid response”.

Stem Cell truths

This is meant to be an addendum to the post I made earlier about hESC funding by Obama. Apparently the EO signed by Obama does more than just fund hESC research, it does it at the expense of all other Stem Cell funding.

All that fluff and bull from Obama during his speech about “use sound, scientific practice and evidence, instead of dogma” and not even the government website from the National Institutes of Health that give info about stem cell research can point to a single treatment offered by hESC research. All they can offer is excuses as to why no treatments have been found.

Have human embryonic stem cells successfully treated any human diseases?

Scientists have been able to do experiments with human embryonic stem cells (hESC) only since 1998, when a group led by Dr. James Thomson at the University of Wisconsin developed a technique to isolate and grow the cells. Moreover, Federal funds to support hESC research have been available since only August 9, 2001, when President Bush announced his decision on Federal funding for hESC research. Because many academic researchers rely on Federal funds to support their laboratories, they are just beginning to learn how to grow and use the cells. Thus, although hESC are thought to offer potential cures and therapies for many devastating diseases, research using them is still in its early stages.

Allow me to answer the question in a clear way that normal people would like to be answered. Because I know that folks in DC have such a difficult time answering a direct question I will provide a simple example that they are free to follow.

Obama and the Dems are spending $1billion/hour

Mitch McConnell (Senate Minority Leader) came up with a way to show the scope of the disgusting spending orgy that DC has been engaging in for the first 50 days of Obama’s administration.

“In just 50 days, Congress has voted to spend about $1.2 trillion between the Stimulus and the Omnibus,” McConnell says. “To put that in perspective, that’s about $24 billion a day, or about $1 billion an hour—most of it borrowed. There’s simply no question: government spending has spun out of control.”

Think about that. $1 billion per hour. They spend that and then have the gall to stand in front of cameras and assure us that they are being responsible and this spending is necessary to bolster the economy. Liars.

Obama’s new genius fix for the economy part 22

President Obama continues to prove himself woefully ill-equipped for his current job. In the face of a huge financial burden he thought it was more important to spend your money on foreign abortion clinics. Now he panders to the far left even more by wasting gobs of our money to create and kill human embryos for the sake of “science”. Science that has been around for years and never delivered anything on the miracles it promised.

Adult stem cell research doesn’t need government funding because it has been successful enough to show promise so it gets private funding. Embryonic stem cell research continues to be woefully lacking in results beyond the result of ending human life. Thus, it is running out of money. No results = no money in the real world. In lunatic DC, results have nothing to do with anything. Intent is all that matters. Put a good tagline on something and it will be funded (with our money).

Obama’s announced a new fix for America

President Obama is finding that his words are not enough. The real world doesn’t react to speeches the way his stadium drones do so he has announced a new cure all for the economy.

Save 2 people, get a ticket for your trouble

I heard about this story on the radio today.

A Colorado man who was run over while helping two elderly women cross a road has been ticketed for jaywalking. Jim Moffett, 68, was hit by a truck when he ran to assist the two women shuffling across a busy intersection. Moffett is now in intensive care with internal injuries—and a $22 jaywalking ticket. “We understand Mr. Moffett was doing something with great intentions,” said Trooper Ryan Sullivan, “but it was still dangerous for anyone to be in the road.”

This is one of the stupidest things I can think of and one of the many reasons that people get so annoyed with cops. I use to think there wasn’t anything worse than being pulled over by a fat, self-righteous arrogant cop. You know what I mean… He pompously stands there asking you demeaning questions about why you did or didn’t do this or that, acting as though he would never act as irresponsibly as you have.

Obama’s Double Speak Speech

As usual, Obama delivered a well polished speech that was sure to incite praise from his fans. Also, as is typical, Obama managed to speak for nearly an hour without actually saying anything of substance. He speaks with a vagueness that Bill Clinton could only dream of. He laid out some goals about his plans in such a way that he would never have to admit that he didn’t meet them because it would be impossible to prove.
